Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Current requests for increase in protection level
Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: IP vandalism that has been going on for literally years, ascribing various random games to the developer. The page protection should most likely be indefinite because the vandal is extremely persistent. Phazd (talk|contribs) 23:13, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
User(s) blocked: 2001:569:7287:4A00:0:0:0:0/64 (talk · contribs) blocked by Daniel Case. for one week. Daniel Case (talk) 21:54, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case I'm afraid this is not going to be useful because the vandal changes their IP easily enough. One week block for an IP that has done absolutely nothing but vandalism for several years is also a surprisingly mild measure. – Phazd (talk|contribs) 00:00, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- We'll see what they do. Some vandals understandably think nothing will happen to them ...until it does.
- As for the length of the block, the page history shows only recent vandalism over the last two days from two IPs on the range and very little editing, disruptive or not, in the two years immediately preceding. Daniel Case (talk) 01:39, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent IP vandalism. ~Darth StabroTalk • Contribs 03:05, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Vandalized by the same user allegedly over and over again. Please give extended auto-confirmed protection to this page, as the person with subjective edits already has auto-confirmed status. He keeps inserting his own opinion, and not adhering to WP:NPOV policies. Pineapplethen (talk) 03:24, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Full protection: Edit-warring/content dispute. Left guide (talk) 03:27, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Young director and lots of competition may make her competitors want to change portions of the page. Chakrabartyprateek14 (talk) 05:11, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: High level of IP and registered vandalism, Semi protection is needed. BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 08:14, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Politically contentious topic. Trump has spread conspiracies about deceased people receiving social security benefits. Recommend semi-protection for at least 4 years. RedDeadGuy (talk) 10:04, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. JensonSL (SilverLocust) 10:13, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry. Kajmer05 (talk) 12:06, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – IPs (possibly the same person) adding unsourced content and edit warring about it [1] [2] [3] [4]. I've warned one of the IPs yesterday [5] but it apparently they didn't care [6]. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:14, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Addition of unsourced content/edit warring continues [7]. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:46, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: IP Vandalism from 2 IP addresses (one warned more than 4 times, one previously blocked) and 1 mobile user. Edits include renaming it Prison in both English & Arabic, changing the location (to Earth or Space), and changing Private school to Torture school. RebeccaGreen (talk) 12:42, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Sockpuppetry and edit-warring. No talk page discussion. Onorem (talk) 12:44, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
+1 Reason: Multiple instances of edit warring consisting of deletion of referenced content by IPs and newly registered users. Technopat (talk) 12:47, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 13:52, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Semi-protection requested to due to continuous disruption from numerous IP accounts. These accounts revert previous edits, resulting in the following - removal of additional information about debut for Lech Poznań & all information and categories related to playing for Lech's reserve team, questionable heading ('Later stage of career' instead of the player's current club), replacing en dashes with hyphens in Career statistics (contraty to WP:Footy standards). The following explanations were given by their author(s) - "removed excess information", "removed unnecessary bits" and "trimming". This behavior appears to be in line with other articles for Bosnian football players, e.g. Jasmin Burić and Haris Duljević. KibolLP (talk) 13:59, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Persistent disruptive editing from IPv6 editor. Skyerise (talk) 03:02, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Semi-protection request due to recent high level of IP vandalism, one of which blanked the page. Because it is a level-3 vital article, this type of vandalism should definitely be protected against. SonOfYoutubers (talk) 03:16, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – LTA user is once again adding the same old lie about the film being a DirectTV exclusive when real reliable sources say otherwise. FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 04:38, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Recent court complaint was just submitted and released, alleging inappropriate conduct with Diddy. Local Courts & Attorneys have not confirmed authenticity - requesting protection to reduce further vandalism of the unverified source. RavenM3 (talk) 05:18, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – This page was recently unprotected after having been protected numerous times. It is still plagued by newer or unregistered users attempting to remove unfavorable information about its subject. Snuish (talk) 05:27, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: WP:PP states: "Talk pages are not usually protected, and are semi-protected only for a limited duration in the most severe cases of disruption." The Gaza Genocide talk page, contrarily, is Extended-confirmed-protected and indefinitely! Hence, it is prima facie overprotected according to the obvious intent of WP:PP. Moreover, WP:PP asserts that talk pages should not be protected in such a way that discussion is limited to a privileged minority of editors, but that is precisely the case at present. I have been informed by an E-C editor that I have no business opining on the content of this article because I am not E-C. This violation of the spirit of WP:PP disenfanchises the majority of Wikipedia's editors. I request the protection of this talk page be lowered to semi-protected.
I have conversed with DanCase who instituted the protection, but he has refererred me back to the Arbitration Committee which made the original decision. Kenfree (talk) 12:03, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Due to considerable disruption, the arbitration committee made a decision long ago that all IP editors, accounts with fewer than 500 edits, and accounts with less than 30 days tenure are prohibited from editing any page that could be reasonably construed as being related to the Arab-Israeli conflict. If you wish to change that decision, you will need to ask the committee. This is done at WP:ARCA. — Malcolmxl5 (talk) 13:07, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Kenfree: To link to the specific decisions, WP:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Palestine-Israel articles 4#ARBPIA General Sanctions (which itself supersedes WP:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Palestine-Israel articles 3#General Prohibition, where this was first introduced) and WP:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Palestine-Israel articles 5#ECP by default. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 17:35, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Declined * Pppery * it has begun... 05:08, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Declined? That seems incredibly peremptory and authoritarian. You address none of the concerns I raised nor do you justify your decision. Is this Wikipedia's idea of due process? Kenfree (talk) 08:01, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Reason: None of the other lists of albums released in a year have extended confirmed protection. UltrasonicMadness (talk) 17:31, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
